Elderly care homes are often viewed as foreign and not traditionally aligned with Ghanaian cultural practices. Today, where families have transitioned from extended to nuclear structures, there is limited space available for the elderly to experience the loving and peaceful lives they deserve. Factors such as education, work commitments, and economic constraints, which are associated with the expectations of studying, working, and financial responsibilities, leave little time for individuals to dedicate to the elderly, despite it being of utmost importance to them.
Regrettably, the current circumstances surrounding academic obligations for students and professional commitments for workers cannot be altered as it makes it difficult for family members to set aside specific times from their academic pursuits, professional endeavours, religious engagements, and other responsibilities for their aging members, and this is where we come in as Omega Care International. By entrusting the care of the elderly to specialized institutions, we can not only ensure their psychological and social well-being, but also provide them with an environment where they can thrive alongside professionals and peers in a natural setting.
In addition, this arrangement grants family members the opportunity to focus on various aspects of their lives, as visits can be scheduled to spend quality time with their elderly loved ones whenever necessary. Consequently, family members are relieved of the sole responsibility of providing constant care at home, enabling them to concentrate on their studies or work commitments. The professional and compassionate care provided by Omega Care International to the elderly in our specialized and elderly-friendly facilities allows both the aged and their family members to lead fulfilling lives, while fostering personal growth and self-fulfilment.

At Omega Care International, we do not only provide psychosocial care and support to the elderly but also, we actively engage in community development and empowerment initiatives. We strategically identify vulnerable communities that require assistance and implement projects aimed at equipping them with the essential skills and resources they need in fulfilling their basic needs. Our focus areas include facilitating access to clean and portable water in vulnerable communities, improving infrastructure and sustainable transportation in rural communities, providing educational materials to rural communities, and offering training and development opportunities for acquiring fundamental skills.
Furthermore, Omega Care International goes beyond direct interventions by facilitating connections between our personnel and clients through life-transforming opportunities. We firmly believe in the interconnectedness and interrelation of families, recognizing that supporting family members ultimately benefits the elderly population in diverse ways. By pursuing these multifaceted endeavors, we diligently work towards achieving our overarching objectives and vision.
We are a group of individuals who are passionate about the elderly and have come together to support them with a flexible and friendly home environment. We understand that there is no perfect solution for all homes, but we believe that this home can be improved by the following:
-A better understanding of how to serve their needs.
-A shift in focus from caring for their physical needs to also caring for their psychological, social and spiritual needs.
-That they receive a better quality of life than what they currently experience in their current facility, just to mention a few.

Where it all started
Due to education, work or economic factors such as expectations that come with studying, working, and financial constraints, very little time is awarded to the elderly even though that is what matters to them most. Unfortunately, nothing can be done about the current situation at the home regarding students having to attend class and spend a lot of their time on academic activities, and workers having to do same in their respective fields. It is very healthy for family members to also have time for themselves aside all the studying, working to earn, engaging in religious activities and other roles and responsibilities that is assigned them.
The story behind
Omega care international is interested in projects such as helping communities get access to portable water, infrastructure and transportation. Others include educational materials and basic skill training and development. Omega care international also brokers some of their personnel and clients to developments and life-transforming opportunities because we believe family is interconnected and interrelated, therefore helping family members in return helps the elderly in varied ways as well-thereby achieving the said aims and goals.
Aside providing psychosocial care to the elderly, omega care international also engages in community development and empowerment programs and projects in communities that meet the criteria to necessitate help. This is to equip them with the necessary basic skills and needs as per the condition demands.
Even though our focus is on the psychological and social wellbeing of the elderly, taking care of the elderly in the aged home will not only help the elderly live to the fullest with professionals and their age mates in a natural environment, but also give you (the family member) ample time to sort yourself out in all spheres of life. Visits will be arranged to spend time with them whenever that is needed. This rids the family members of the responsibility to spend all their time with the elderly at home (meaning they can focus on studying or working).
At omega care international we believe that there is no greater gift than the gift of life, aside that is the good relationships we have. That is why we’re committed to helping people in need of support for their elderly. We understand that it can be a challenge to provide a safe, comfortable and loving environment for your loved ones, especially when they’re aging. That’s why we’ve partnered with organizations like [organization name] to help you meet your goals.
We have access to farm lands for cultivating and growing healthy foods, fruits and vegetables for consumption, resources for the management of the activities and functions at the facility and well-informed patrons (a little information about the patrons….their online bio) whom will ensure that the people under our care have everything they need or might require.
We intend to provide support for elderly and this will be done through donations from individuals, groups and organizations who wish to contribute financially (in cash), technologically (gadgets and equipments), or human resource (volunteers to work in their respective knowledge and skill set) towards this cause. Donations will be efficiently used by omega care international for various projects and programs that are aimed at promoting the psychosocial wellbeing of the elderly. We are looking for individuals, groups and agencies who support elderly care homes.
